Edgars Rubenis is a Latvian composer and guitarist, who lived and worked in The Hague, Netherlands during making of this record.

Having been a guitarist in various ways and forms, this is actually his first solo guitar release. It is also the first instalment in his blues and ragtime inspired series Pains and Boogies.

Recorded on tape, at home, between October and December 2021, Slow Lightning collects pieces written since the spring of 2020.
